Fernand Durozé, Portrait Of A WomanAn early 20th century portrait of a middle aged woman in a light green top by Parisian painter, Fernand Duroz (1876 1961). Duroz has captured the sitters laissez faire attitude superbly well. With her knowing eyes and wry smile, she seems like the kind of lady that knew exactly what everyone had been up to. Duroz studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Paris under Jean Lon Grme (1824 1904) and exhibited at the illustrious Paris Salon from around 1910.

He also undertook various study trips to Europe

It seems to be the work of a ‘Portrait House’ in Vienna as it’s signed ‘Wiener Portrat Haus 1904’ and also stamped on the reverse
