The artist, Gustav Wustmann (1873 1939), has used a mossy green background colour which accentuates the sitters striking eyes. Its a delicate portrayal that suggests a gentle character. Wustmann was the son of a great historian by the same name and studied at the Academies in Leipzig and Munich. The portrait is housed within a decorative
