Flow Blue Lahore Platter c 1891A Flow Blue transferware platter in the Lahore pattern, dating to around 1891. The octagonal form features the characteristic deep cobalt to white bleed of the flow blue process, with a central scene of pagodas, a decorative urn, weeping trees and full blown peonies all framed by an elaborate floral and geometric border. The pattern draws on the Chinoiserie tradition that was enormously popular with Victorian era English potteries. Condition: Age

Blue Willow has been a staple of the British table for well over two centuries

there may be small natural air bubbles or pontil mark evidence on the base

Barley twist legs appear sound with no obvious breaks or repairs

and while it does show signs of historic borer

inviting glow perfect for a reading nook or bedside

in warm caramel and cream tones

Condition: The front face presents well
