The grey body is decorated in cobalt blue with banded lines at the neck and foot and loosely painted floral or leaf motifs across the shoulder and belly

The linen ground has aged to a warm honey-brown

hand-painted with a long-tailed bird perched among lush peonies and foliage

Areas that look like small “chips” at first glance are actually glaze misses from firing (not later damage)
