17th century sailor vest blackThe vest is based on 16th17th century originals. Vests such as this were worn from the Tudor era, through the time of the Spanish Armada, during the War of the Spanish Succession, and into the Pirate era. The garment protected the body from cold weather whilst permitting full freedom of arm movement, making it particularly practical and popular amongst labourers and sailors. Crafted from 100% cotton, it is available in the colours black and dark brown.
